Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the expansion of the program of free medical care for COVID-19 patients. According to the mayor of the capital, now Muscovites undergoing outpatient treatment for coronavirus will be able to receive new antiviral drugs for free, including Areplivir produced by PROMOMED Group of Companies.

Clinical trials of Areplivir began in June 2020 and were conducted under the supervision of full members of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 5 medical institutions in Russia. 210 patients participated in the research. In early July, Areplivir began to be used in hospitals, and on September 21, the drug began to be sold in pharmacies.

In his message, the mayor noted that the use of new drug therapy regimens, as well as additional tests and the ability to constantly monitor their condition, will significantly improve the quality of treatment at home. Patients will be able to tolerate the disease much more easily and return to normal life faster. At the same time, anticoagulants that prevent blood clotting and blood clots will be prescribed to patients with moderate disease to prevent possible complications.

Outpatient patients with diagnosed pneumonia will also receive pulse oximeters free of charge by a doctor's decision. These devices allow you to instantly assess the level of oxygen saturation in the blood, which is an important indicator when assessing the condition of a patient with COVID-19.
