On November 12, a solemn meeting was held in the hall of the I.M.Yaushev State Musical Theater on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of JSC Biochemist. The event was attended by officials, veterans of the plant and employees of the enterprise.

The head of the republic, Vladimir Volkov, congratulated the staff on the anniversary of the plant:

- "Biochemist JSC is the pride of the republic, the flagship of the industry. The success of the economy, the fate of several generations of residents of Mordovia, and labor dynasties are connected with it. The history of Biochemist is the history of the pharmaceutical industry in the country, with its ups and downs, sharp turns and taking the highest peaks. A wonderful anniversary gift was the new building that we visited today. In fact, these are 5 new workshops, including a laboratory, production of finished products and substances. Congratulations on this event! Today, Biochemist has an excellent production base and research potential. There is everything to give the world new, breakthrough technologies of drug treatment, to find a panacea for most modern diseases!,- emphasized Vladimir Dmitrievich.

The Head of the region expressed special words of gratitude to the veterans of production, those who stood at the origins of the creation of the plant. Vladimir Volkov also thanked the employees of the plant for their honest and efficient work, for their significant contribution to the development of our republic.

The participants of the solemn meeting were greeted by Chairman of the State Assembly of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Chibirkin, Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Sushkov, Chief Federal Inspector for the Republic of Moldova of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District Mikhail Sezganov, Deputy Chairman of the Government – Minister of Industry, Science and New Technologies of the Republic of Moldova Alexander Sedov.

Peter Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed, expressed gratitude to the regional authorities and personally to the Head of Mordovia, Vladimir Volkov, for their support and trust.

- Biochemist has come a long way in 60 years: throughout the Soviet period, the plant was rightfully considered the flagship of the pharmaceutical industry. The company was famous all over the world and supplied medicines to European and Asian countries. A difficult period occurred in the 90s and early 2000s. The plant, along with our entire country, was going through a crisis - there were no orders, wages were not paid, people worked part-time. The very existence of the Biochemist was threatened.

Today we are proud of our successes. In a very short period of time, Biochemist has once again become a leader in production and synthesis. Now it's hard to believe that the plant owed a lot to the budget. Today, the company is one of the TOP 5 largest taxpayers in the region. All this became possible thanks to our professional and friendly team. We are not just confidently looking to the future, we are looking to the future with great love for people.

The solemn anniversary event included an official part and a concert. More than 40 awards, from federal to republican, were received by Biochemik employees. The plant's labor dynasties were awarded with commendations.

As a gift from the Head of the Republic, the Biochemist received a painting by a local artist depicting the beauties of Mordovian nature. In turn, Peter Bely presented Vladimir Volkov with a unique document from declassified materials of the State Archive of the Russian Federation – the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated 03/5/1952, signed by I. Stalin, on the need to start construction of an antibiotic manufacturing plant in Saransk. The legendary history of Biochemist began with this document, which has been going on for the past seven decades.
