It belongs to the first-line drugs for breast cancer, metastatic prostate and stomach cancer, unresectable non-small cell lung cancer, malignant tumors of the head and neck, and is a second-line drug for metastatic ovarian cancer. Docetaxel belongs to the group of taxanes — cytostatic** medicinal products of plant origin, it is obtained by chemical synthesis from needles of European yew. The mechanism of action of the drug consists in the accumulation of a special protein tubulin in the nuclei of tumor cells, which leads to disruption of cell division processes and causes their death.

In addition, docetaxel persists in cells for a long time and is active against some cells that cannot be treated with many other chemotherapy drugs.

The development of a portfolio of drugs for the treatment of oncological diseases is one of Promomed Group's priorities as part of its strategy to solve global medical problems, save lives and significantly improve patient health.

Docetaxel-Promomed will be available as a concentrate for the preparation of an infusion solution. This dosage form has a more effective effect on tumors, reducing the overall toxic effect on the body.

Docetaxel is included in the list of VED, as well as most medicines from Promomed Group's oncological portfolio.

*Anthracycline drugs are antitumor antibiotics.

**Cytostatic drugs are antitumor drugs that disrupt the growth, development and division mechanisms of all body cells, including malignant ones, thereby initiating apoptosis. In this case, cells with a high mitotic index are mainly affected, or cells whose biochemical processes are most destabilized by cytostatics.
