Promomed Group of Companies has received a registration certificate for its first biotech product. The active ingredient of the new drug, double—stranded sodium RNA salt, stimulates the production of all major types of interferons, triggering an adequate innate and adaptive immune response, which ensures the rapid onset of therapeutic effect and protects the body from various viral and bacterial infections.

"Promomed Group has expanded the area of research interest beyond chemical synthesis by turning to biotechnologies. The company's specialists were able to recreate the developments that Soviet scientists had been working on and improve them with the help of biotechnological innovations. Biomedical drugs have made it possible to make a breakthrough in the treatment of many diseases. Creation of the drug Radamine® Viro is the first step that opens a new chapter in the company's history dedicated to the creation of fundamentally new methods of treating critical diseases," said Kira Zaslavskaya, Director of New Products at Promomed Group.

When Radamine® is introduced into the body Viro stimulates the formation of endogenous interferons with anti-inflammatory, immunostimulating, antiviral and other types of activity that provide a natural protective response of the body. It is very important that the immune response occurs quickly, within 2-6 hours after the application of the drug, while within two days the level of interferons returns to background values.

"The urgent need to develop new methods of etiotropic therapy, as well as the increasing ability of microorganisms to resist the effects of the drugs used, have actualized the search for remedies that provide an adequate immune response. The most promising is the creation of drugs that activate the body's first line of defense, the interferon system. It prevents the pathogen from entering the cell, disrupts the reproduction of viruses and triggers processes leading to the elimination of the pathogenic agent from the body." — commented Olga Radaeva, MD, Professor, Head of the Department of Immunology, Microbiology and Virology at the Ogarev Moscow State University Medical Institute, allergologist and immunologist.

The absence of mutagenic, allergic, cumulative and local irritant effects of Radamine® viro, as well as effects on reproductive function, ensures a high level of drug safety. The drug is available in the form of a lyophilizate for the preparation of a solution for intramuscular and subcutaneous administration with a dosage of 5 mg of 2,3,4, or 5 pcs. per pack, which corresponds to current treatment regimens.
