PROMOMED Company, with the support of N. P. Ogarev Mordovian State University, announces the completion of the fifth anniversary educational festival "Pharma is love". This large-scale event has become a unique platform where more than fifty talented students and young scientists from eight leading pharmaceutical and medical universities in the country were able to demonstrate their potential and offer innovative solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.

This year, Samara State Technical University, Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Ivanovo State University, Kosta Levanovich Khetagurov North Ossetian State University, N. I. Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University, R. E. Alekseev Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University, Russian University of Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Russia and Mordovia Ogarev State University.

The main event of the anniversary festival was the competition of student projects in the field of pharmacy and medicine. For several days, the participants solved real scientific and production tasks facing the modern pharmaceutical industry. During the event, PROMOMED medical experts organized an open consultation area where any of the students could receive expert advice on solving their problems.

"We have specially created cases that reflect the current challenges of the pharmaceutical industry in order to make our knowledge accessible to young professionals,— saidVictoria Shcherbakova, Medical Director of PROMOMED. — That's why we opened a consultation area where each participant could ask a question, discuss difficult points or get feedback on their project. This format allowed students to work independently on solutions, but at the same time be able to compare the course with practicing experts. This was not mentoring in the classical sense — rather, we created an environment where the professional community could share their experiences with a new generation of researchers."

The practical achievements of the festival participants have already received a positive assessment from the experts of PROMOMED. The best team was awarded a cash prize and an invitation to an internship in the scientific departments of the Company with the opportunity to further develop their projects under the guidance of experienced mentors. Of particular interest were solutions related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the properties of candidate molecules and the development of mRNA drug delivery systems: these areas correspond to global trends in the pharmaceutical industry and are of particular importance for the development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry.

The experts noted the high level of involvement of the participants, their commitment to natural sciences and a professional approach to solving problems.

Peter Bely, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC PROMOMED:

"There is an amazing atmosphere today that makes you think: in an era of universal fascination with artificial intelligence, we should not forget about our own. A day like today proves the opposite.: This is a time of vibrant human intelligence, burning eyes and real research. The projects that we see are no longer student work, but full—fledged professional solutions. And our next big goal is not only to create medicines, but also to live an interesting life. That's exactly what's happening here, and I'm happy to be a part of it. “Pharma is love" is happiness. Because medicine is happiness."

The scientific program of the festival included presentations by leading industry experts. Vladimir Poroikov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Candidate of Physico-Mathematical Sciences, delivered a lecture "Search and design of new drugs using in silico methods", in which he highlighted in detail modern approaches to computer modeling of medicines.

"The current enthusiasm for the use of artificial intelligence, including in the creation of medicines, is understandable. However, it is not the method itself that is fundamentally new, but the availability of huge amounts of data and computing power to process them," said Vladimir Poroikov. — It is important for specialists who are just entering this field to understand that the possibilities and limitations of AI methods are similar to classical approaches such as QSAR or machine learning. Everything is decided by the quality of the data. However, looking at the participants of the festival and knowing what the future holds for young people, I can confidently say that the Russian pharmaceutical industry definitely has a worthy future."

The Pharma is Love Festival has been proving its effectiveness for several years as a key industry platform where not only innovative ideas are born, but also real career paths. During the existence of the project, dozens of talented students who took part in it became part of the PROMOMED team. After meeting at the festival, more than 20 young professionals are building a career in the Company as shift managers, chromatography engineers and chemical technologists.

This event is a logical part of PROMMED's consistent and long-term policy of educating and forming a new generation of talented personnel in the pharmaceutical industry. The company is not just looking for ready-made professionals, but purposefully invests in their development: through internships, mentoring and involvement in real scientific projects within the framework of a high—tech full—cycle business model: "from idea to molecule, from molecule to patient."
