At the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, Promomed Group, a major pharmaceutical manufacturer in Russia, signed training agreements with three leading universities in the country. Students will be taught for a specific production, Irina Mokretsova, correspondent of the MIR 24 TV channel, reports.

Promomed Group of companies has several strategic partners at once. Evdokimov Moscow Medical and Dental University, Ogarev Mordovian University and Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology.

Now students will have the opportunity to consolidate their knowledge in practice. And already during the training to participate in scientific research.

"This is a full-fledged education for five years. In subjects with in-depth study and with annual access to operating enterprises, with the acquisition of practical work experience at an existing pharmaceutical enterprise. By and large, here we get specialists who are ready to work right after university. We don't need to retrain them for another five years," said Dmitry Zemskov, Executive Director of the Promomed Group's Biochemist plant

Promomed is a major pharmaceutical manufacturer. The company is growing every year. And there are more jobs. Today, professionals in the fields of biotechnology, chemical synthesis, and medical cybernetics are needed.

"Today's event is an opportunity for us to significantly expand the number of applicants that we can train at leading universities in the country and then receive highly qualified personnel. Moreover, these are people who start working from school in the conditions in which they will continue to work," said Peter Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed Group of Companies.

Thanks to future pharmacists, the company expects to create innovative medicines and biologically active additives from domestic raw materials.

"It seems to me that the close cooperation of the university and university science with the real sector of the economy is something that our country has lacked for many years. Because a lot of Western licenses were bought, and factories were built under Western licenses. Now the market has changed, the situation has changed. Universities are ready to take responsibility for the implementation of such large—scale projects," said Ilya Vorotyntsev, Acting Rector of the Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology.

Promomed plans to increase exports and enter new markets in the near future.
