Intellectual Property Directorate
To enhance the efficiency of intellectual property management, the Promomed Group established a dedicated unit in 2021—the Intellectual Property Directorate—under the leadership of Maria Porokhnya. The creation of this Directorate was a strategic decision, reflecting the role of intellectual property as a key asset for the Group.
The Directorate’s team consists of highly qualified professionals, including certified patent attorneys. Staff within the patent department possess extensive expertise in biotechnology, chemistry, medicine, and pharmaceuticals, and have many years of experience in registering complex patentable subject matter and developing patent strategies. The department responsible for the protection of means of individualization ensures the timely registration of various types of trademarks, as well as the comprehensive safeguarding and protection of the Company’s brands.
Furthermore, the work of the Intellectual Property Directorate is integrated into the processes of drug development and product promotion. Deep involvement with key Group divisions—such as the R&D center and the marketing department—ensures that intellectual property management processes are highly efficient and business-oriented. The launch of every medicinal product is supported by comprehensive due diligence and expert guidance from specialists in patenting and the registration of means of individualization; this secures the freedom to market these products commercially while providing robust protection against imitation.

Intellectual property objects
To date, the Group’s intellectual property includes more than 100 patents and more than 600 trademarks of the Russian Federation and foreign jurisdictions, and continues to systematically expand in accordance with the strategic priorities of the Group and the development of the product portfolio.
The developed model of internal intellectual property management provides a full cycle of acquisition and protection of exclusive rights using our own specialists - from conducting patent research and searches to global monitoring of violations. This model, unique for a pharmaceutical company, ensures continuous control over the formed patent portfolio and its timely and rhythmic addition of new objects and increases the security of the Company’s confidential information.
The Directorate’s work has been recognized with a number of prestigious industry awards.
- "LEGAL TO BUSINESS AWARDS 2026" in the "Intellectual Property" category;
