PROMOMED Group's charity program "Areplivir – doctors" expands its geography. The Republic of Dagestan has become a new region whose doctors from the "red zones" will receive an effective and safe drug against coronavirus infection free of charge.
On February 25, a working meeting was held in Makhachkala between Sergey Melikov, Acting Head of the Republic, Viktor Bondarev, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and Andrey Mladentsev, Chief Executive Officer of PROMOMED Group. The meeting, which was also attended by Acting Minister of Health of Dagestan Tatyana Vasilyeva and the chief doctors of all covid hospitals in the region, discussed the general epidemiological situation in the North Caucasian Republic and measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
As Sergey Melikov noted, today in Dagestan there is a gradual decrease in the number of detected cases of COVID-19 infection, however, despite this, the total number of coronavirus cases exceeds 25 thousand people. "Doctors are in a special risk zone, so we gratefully responded to the initiative of the Federation Council and PROMOMED Group of Companies to donate more than 1,500 packages of Areplivir to protect our health workers," he said. In turn, according to Tatyana Belyaeva, as of February 25, 2021, 823 medical workers are working in the "red zones" of covid hospitals in Dagestan. "So far, not all of them have had time to be vaccinated, and the supply of Areplivir in specialized hospitals will become a reliable protection for doctors and nurses from new cases of coronavirus infection," the Acting Minister of Health of the Republic added.
Andrey Mladentsev, Chief Executive Officer of PROMOMED Group, stressed that despite the start of a large-scale vaccination program and the gradual lifting of restrictive measures in Russia, it is extremely dangerous to relax and lose vigilance. "It is already clear to everyone that the coronavirus will stay with us for a long time, so PROMOMED has started working on new forms of production of effective antiviral medicines," he said. "In this regard, we invite the leadership of the Republic of Dagestan to visit our Biochemist plant in Saransk to assess the production potential and see with our own eyes the work on the production of innovative drugs."
The leadership of Dagestan responded to the invitation and ordered to organize a government visit to the plant, as well as to prepare an agreement on direct supplies of medicines produced by Biochemik to the Republic.
At the end of the working meeting, Senator Viktor Bondarev and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dmitry Pushkar, who participated in the meeting via video link, expressed gratitude to the authorities of the Republic of Dagestan and expressed confidence in the speedy joint victory over the pandemic.
The Areplivir — Doctors All–Russian program, with the participation of governors, heads of executive and legislative authorities, was successfully held in several regions of the Russian Federation - Moscow, Leningrad, Samara, Sverdlovsk, Saratov, Kirov, Voronezh regions, the Republic of Mordovia, Perm Krai and other regions. In total, PROMOMED donated over 15,000 packages of the drug against coronavirus infection to doctors working in the "red zones".
