Industry development

Issues related to the development of the Biochemist plant were discussed. Special attention was paid to the topic of developing fifth-generation antibiotics at the enterprise. This project is of great importance for Russia, because today the substances for the production of most antibacterial drugs are imported from different countries. "The creation of the latest full-cycle antibiotics is our contribution to the state's drug safety. The project solves the tasks of import substitution and reducing dependence on foreign manufacturers of medicines," the Head of the Republic noted.

Currently, Biochemist is preparing to release four antibiotic substances into commercial production. Over the next three years, the company will produce more than 20 latest-generation antibiotics.

In many ways, this became possible thanks to the opening of the Scientific and Production Engineering Center "Antibiotic". It should be recalled that just over a year ago, in the presence of the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Veronika Skvortsova, an agreement was signed on the establishment of a scientific research center based on Biochemik and Mordovian State University.  And last summer, the first domestic substance of the antibiotic "Vancomycin" was released in the laboratory at the plant, as the Head of Mordovia reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin. In October, the first pilot batch of the Russian substance was received, then its examination was carried out at the enterprise, which revealed that in terms of quality, the resulting substance is not inferior to substances from foreign manufacturers.

During the working meeting between Vladimir Volkov and Peter Bely, the importance of the company's cooperation with the Mordovian State University was noted. In early February, a basic department for students of the Ogarev Moscow State University will be opened at Biochemistry, which will study the synthesis of new antibiotics. As Pyotr Bely emphasized, there are no analogues in Russia yet.
