A thousand packages of the drug, which is included in the methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on combating COVID-19, were delivered by PROMOMED to medical institutions in the region.

On December 1, a delegation from PROMOMED arrived in Perm with the Areplivir – Doctors charity all-Russian campaign for medical workers. Sergey Nikiforov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Perm Territory, held a meeting of the chief doctors of medical institutions in the Kama Region, where patients with coronavirus infection are treated, with representatives of the company. As noted by Peter Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PROMOMED Holding, Perm Krai has become the fourth region of the country to which a pharmaceutical manufacturer has sent a free batch of Areplivir for the treatment of doctors working in the "red zone". He drew attention to the fact that, thanks to personal agreements with the governor of the Perm Territory Dmitry Makhonin, 1,000 packages of medicine were delivered to the Kama Region.

"This is a great help for our medical staff. Doctors need support – they are at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus, performing a feat, saving hundreds of people every day. I really hope that this modern medicine will speed up the recovery of doctors and help them return to work as soon as possible," said Sergey Nikiforov.

Anatoly Kasatov, Chief physician of the Perm Regional Clinical Hospital, noted that the doctors of the medical institution already have experience using the active substance favipiravir in moderate to severe COVID-19 and have not observed any side effects.

Additionally, Perm Krai has signed a contract with PROMOMED pharmaceutical company for the supply of 7 thousand more packages of Areplivir. They will be used to treat coronavirus patients in hospitals and given to patients who are on outpatient care. Almost 33 million rubles have been allocated for these purposes.
