Areplivir is recognized as an innovative product

The winner of the international award "Innovative Product of 2021" was the direct-acting antiviral drug Areplivir of the Promomed group of companies, used in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in the priority treatment regimen for Covid-19.

The VII award ceremony for the "Innovative Product of the Year" was held in Moscow on August 10. After careful selection and evaluation, the expert council named the best consumer goods produced over the past 15 months.

Promomed started working on the development of a drug for the treatment of a new coronavirus infection from the very beginning of the pandemic. Clinical trials began in June 2020 and took place in five Russian medical institutions under the supervision of full members of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In the course of clinical trials, Areplivir has proven to be highly effective and safe, preventing the transition of coronavirus infection to a severe form.

In September 2020, PROMOMED Group was the first in Russia to receive a permanent registration certificate for a drug against the SARS-COV-2 coronavirus, which made it possible to use the drug on an outpatient basis, and soon Areplivir entered pharmacy chains.

Almost immediately, the medicine was included in the methodological recommendations of the Russian Ministry of Health for the treatment of COVID-19, and by order of the Government of the Russian Federation, from 10/21/2020, it was included in the list of vital and essential medicines.

The drug has a dual effect: firstly, it blocks the reproduction of the virus, and secondly, it triggers the self-destruction of viral particles.
