The Biochemist Plant (of which PROMOMED has a controlling stake) and the Farmcontract Group of Companies have signed a cooperation agreement. As part of the agreement, an "innovative" building will be completely reconstructed at the production site of PJSC Biochemik in Saransk, which will house an R&D laboratory, as well as workshops for the chemical and microbiological synthesis of active pharmaceutical substances.

The team of the holding's engineering division will develop a project that includes the layout of production facilities, taking into account the requirements of GMP standards and national rules of industrial practice; develop a concept of clean zones; propose an optimal list of technological and analytical equipment that allows the synthesis of a wide range of substances, produce various forms of medicines and guarantee quality control of products.
The building will be equipped with high-tech equipment manufactured in Switzerland, Germany and Italy. The reconstruction of the "innovative" building will be completed by December 2017.
The second stage will be a complex of work on commissioning and staff training.
In general, the modernization program, designed for five years, includes the reconstruction of two existing buildings, as well as the construction of a new large building for the production of drugs for parenteral administration.
Such a large-scale project of the Biochemist investment program is not just a step towards making a significant contribution to ensuring import substitution and promoting the availability of high-quality Russian-made medicines. This is a key factor in the country's pharmaceutical safety, provided for by the programs for the development of the Russian pharmaceutical industry.
