Efavirenz, used in the treatment of HIV infection, has received a registration certificate*, becoming the fourth drug in the Promomed Group's antiretroviral portfolio. The drug is included in the first-line antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimens for adults and children.

The antiviral activity of Efavirenz is associated with the inhibition of HIV−1 reverse transcriptase. The drug is used in a complex of antiviral agents in combination therapy, it is indicated for the treatment of adults and children from three years old infected with the human immunodeficiency virus type one. Antiviral therapy is the key to the success of treatment of patients with HIV infection, helps to increase the duration and maintain the quality of life.

The development and production of medicines aimed at the treatment of major critical diseases, including the human immunodeficiency virus, is one of the most important strategic directions in the work of Promomed Group, focused on solving significant medical problems, saving and significantly improving the quality of life of patients.

Efavirenz will be available in tablet form in dosages from 100 to 600 mg, which corresponds to standard intake regimens.

Like most medicines produced by Promomed Group, this drug is included in the list of VED.
