Esperavir®, developed by Promomed Group of companies, became the winner of the IQVIA RX And Consumer Health Awards, which takes place as part of the annual IQVIA Client Day event, in the category "Best range of prescription drugs in the budget Sales segment in 2021. The winners in each nomination were determined based on information from databases on preferential drug provision in the Russian Federation. One of the mandatory conditions for the selection of candidates was the absence of a drug on the market until 2021.
"Winning the IQVIA RX And Consumer Health Awards is primarily a sign of product quality and recognition of its relevance. Esperavir is unique for us not only in its mechanism of action from the point of view of therapy, but also in that it became the first Russian drug for the treatment of coronavirus based on a molecule recognized by the medical community at the international level. And this award is a great motivation for our team not to stop there," he shared.Maxim Smagin, CEO of Promomed.
The company offered the first drug to combat COVID-19, Areplivir® (favipiravir), to patients and doctors back in mid-2020. Almost immediately, the drug was included in the methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for the treatment of COVID-19, and by order of the Government of the Russian Federation from 10/21/2020, it was included in the list of vital and essential medicines (VED). Promomed continues to expand its anti-cancer drug portfolio, believing that it is extremely important for doctors to have a wide range of etiotropic therapy drugs in their arsenal. To date, the company produces about 30 medicines aimed at combating coronavirus infection and its consequences.
