New enterprises for the production of medicines have been opened in Russia today. The investments that have been invested in the plants amount to billions of rubles. These are entire complexes designed for a full cycle of drug creation, says Igor Mosunov, a correspondent for MIR 24.
There are three regions of the country in direct communication. New pharmaceutical enterprises have been opened in three regions of Russia at once: Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg and Saransk.
"Today's event is another step in increasing the production of effective domestic medicines, which, among other things, replace the in–demand imported analogues. They are needed to treat a number of dangerous and socially significant diseases," Russian President Vladimir Putin said via video link at the opening ceremony.
Otis Pharma Pro has launched a new production facility in Kaliningrad. It will produce a wide range of medicines in demand on the Russian market, including antibiotics, antiviral, and immunomodulatory drugs.
"Already this year, the pharmaceutical company Otis Pharma Pro will produce more than 50 million packages of medicines, including 16 million packages of medicines included in the list of vital and essential medicines," said Olga Mednikova, General Director of Otis Pharma Pro.
Drugs for the treatment of cancer and cardiovascular diseases, as well as the treatment of HIV-infected people, will be produced by a new enterprise in Saransk, as well as pharmaceutical substances for more than 100 types of medicines.
The second stage of the Pharmasynthesis-Nord plant was opened in St. Petersburg today. This will allow us to increase the production of the most important drugs that have already begun, including for the treatment of oncological and autoimmune diseases.
"Our main focus is on the quality of the drugs we produce. For example, not all European plants meet the standards available at our plant in St. Petersburg. I am saying this without any exaggeration," said Vikram Punia, President of Pharmasynthesis–Nord.
Every company means not only people's health, but also thousands of new jobs.
"Why is it so important for us to open a plant for the synthesis of pharmaceutical substances right now? Because this is actually the strengthening of the country's medicinal sovereignty. It's no secret that until recently, we imported the lion's share of pharmaceutical substances from abroad, and by opening this plant, we are making another significant contribution to change this situation."
