PROMOMED company became the general partner of the IV International Forum "Commonwealth of Fashion". The Company's experts supported one of the main themes — the popularization of healthy aesthetics and the issues of the inextricable link between beauty and health.
During the round table "It's fashionable to be healthy", the participants discussed the relationship between the health, beauty and fashion industries, as well as issues of popularizing the scientific approach to the concept of beauty. Lyudmila Kovalchuk, PhD, Marketing and Sales Director of Endocrinology at PROMMED Group, in her speech revealed the concept of using nature-like technologies in pharmacy and medicine, which involves the use of natural forms and processes to create innovative medicines.
"We see that the world is rapidly getting fatter. In Russia, 44 million people are overweight or obese, and in the world this figure reaches one billion. Of course, the fashion industry works wonders by creating comfortable and beautiful clothes for any body, helping us feel confident. However, when it comes to aesthetics and style, we often miss the main thing — the direct impact of weight on health and life expectancy. It has been scientifically proven that an increase in body mass index is inextricably linked with an increase in mortality. So, when diagnosed “obesity” a person's life is shortened by an average of 15 years compared to those who maintain a normal weight. Ignoring these numbers means ignoring the real risks to life. That is why today, more than ever, it is important to bring back to our consciousness a simple and vital truth: being healthy is what is truly beautiful."
PROMMED's participation in the Commonwealth of Fashion Forum was a significant step in bridging the gap between the fashion industry and evidence-based medicine. For the Company, the event marked the entrance to a new, broader audience — not only the medical and business community, but also those who directly shape trends and public perception of beauty. This was a practical demonstration of a new approach, where science is becoming a fashion trend, and taking care of health is a conscious choice of a modern person.
