On November 21, Igor Komarov, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District, paid a working visit to the Biochemist plant of the Promomed Group. Alexander Efremov, General Director of PROMOMED DM LLC, and Alexey Klyuchnikov, Production Director of Biochemik JSC, demonstrated a high-tech tablet and capsule production line, and also talked about the Company's import substitution projects.

The Promomed Group's production site, the Biochemist plant, continues deep modernization and significant updating of the product portfolio with a focus on high-tech and intellectually rich products. In 2023, the Company's portfolio was replenished with three hundredth drug; about 100 more are in development, of which 40 molecules will be put into mass production in 2023. Most of the new molecules belong to vital drugs in the treatment of oncological diseases, infectious hepatitis, HIV, in endocrinology and neurology.

The company actively participates in the import substitution program, and Promomed's well-developed scientific base challenges foreign products and urgently replenishes foreign manufacturers leaving the market. For example, at the end of 2022, Novo Nordisk (Denmark) announced the cessation of supplies of vital medicines for the treatment of diabetic and overweight patients, and in March 2023 it actually stopped shipments. Promomed/Biochemist accepted the challenge, developed a drug and a pen for its use. Nine months later, Enligria and Quincenta drugs entered the market in cooperation with the Medsintez plant, completely replacing the dropped products of the unfriendly pharmaceutical manufacturer.

Biochemist continues to implement modern approaches to increase labor productivity. In 2023, a semi–automatic tablet and capsule production line was launched at full speed - the only one in the country and one of three installed in Europe. Igor Komarov examined with interest the latest equipment in operation, separately noting that the capacity of the new line of up to 1 billion tablets and capsules per year is really impressive and demonstrates real import substitution in the pharmaceutical industry in the country.

It should be recalled that this is Igor Komarov's second visit to the enterprise. In April 2021 For a year he visited the workshop for the production of pharmaceutical substances of antibiotics and finished medicines in ampoules. At that time, the main purpose of the visit was the contribution of the pharmaceutical industry to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
