Obtaining registration certificates for the production of Etoricoxib and Dexmedetomidine by JSC Biochemik is a new breakthrough for the Russian pharmaceutical industry.
According to the forecasts of the company's specialists, the appearance of Russian-made Etoricoxib will significantly reduce the cost of therapy for the treatment of rheumatological diseases.
When releasing a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, the company will use all stages of production of the finished drug.
Etoricoxib will be put into production in early September. The drug will be available in the form of tablets with dosages of 60, 90 and 120 mg.
The drug is recommended by doctors for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, chronic low back pain, acute pain and gout.
Single-dose oral ethericoxib provides four times more pain relief after surgery than placebo, with equivalent levels of side effects. Etoricoxib is more effective or even better than other analgesics that are commonly used in the treatment of rheumatological diseases.
A Cochrane systematic review evaluated the benefits of single-dose Etoricoxib in reducing acute postoperative pain in adults.
Clinical studies have shown that Etoricoxib is well tolerated, significantly improves the quality of life of patients and can be successfully used for long-term therapy of diseases. At the same time, the drug causes significantly fewer adverse events from the gastrointestinal tract than others with the same effect.
Here's what practitioners say about this drug:
Elena Ivanovna Matkevich, Candidate of Medical Sciences, GBUZ "GKB named after I.V. Davydovsky DZM", Moscow:
- Chronic pain is characterized by the development of specific neurophysiological reactions and the increased influence of personality and psychological factors on the course of the pathological process. Therefore, effective and safe pain management is an important issue for clinicians. The latest generation of NSAIDs, Etoricoxib, combines a powerful analgesic potential, pronounced anti-inflammatory properties, long-lasting effect and a favorable safety profile for the development of gastrointestinal pathology, expands the possibilities of symptomatic therapy, in particular, for such a formidable, disabling pathology as rheumatic diseases. The development and production of domestic Etoricoxib by JSC Biochemik makes effective therapy more accessible and contributes to solving the issue of the treatment of socially significant diseases in our country.
Zhuravleva Marina Vladimirovna, MD, Professor, Chief Freelance Specialist Clinical Pharmacologist, Deputy Director of the Center for Clinical Pharmacology of the Scientific Center for Expertise of Medical Devices of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation:
- Symptomatic painkillers play an important role in the treatment of socially significant diseases of the musculoskeletal system, primarily of an inflammatory nature— such as rheumatoid arthritis. And it's not just about the quality of life. According to research, it turned out that regular use of NSAIDs reduces the risk of death from cardiovascular disasters. The production of the new domestic Etoricoxib is an important link in providing the medical community with the most modern, sought-after, affordable and safe medicines that can increase the life expectancy of the population.
Another equally important success of Biochemist is the registration of Dexmedetomidine (a concentrate for preparing an infusion solution).
The company was one of the first in the country to receive a registration certificate for a drug used in anesthesiology and rheumatology and having a sedative effect.
It can be safely called the newest of the drugs used for sedation in the practice of anesthesiology and intensive care.
Experts also speak extremely positively about the therapeutic effects of the drug.:
Nikolay Yuryevich Shukhtin, Candidate of Medical Sciences, BPSC RAS:
- The problem of sedation is always given a lot of attention, especially in intensive care units. Dexmedetomidine has an important ability to provide sedation in "collaboration with the patient." Patients receiving dexmedetomidine are calm, but they easily wake up if necessary and are ready to cooperate with medical staff. The successful chemical formula of dexmedetomidine, which determines the unique pharmacological and pharmacokinetic properties of the drug, and excretion, which is almost independent of the state of renal excretory function, determine a favorable safety profile. And the possibility of using it as the only agent for drug sedation, for example, during anesthetic accompaniment of intraluminal endoscopic interventions, and good compatibility with all sedative agents, which makes it possible to reduce doses of the latter without losing control of the depth of sedation, makes the drug convenient from the point of view of pharmacoeconomics. The availability of high-quality Russian-made dexmedetomidine is an important breakthrough for Russian anesthesiology.
The fully domestic production of Etoricoxib and Dexmedetomidine on the basis of JSC Biochemik is an important link in providing the medical community with the most modern, in-demand, affordable and safe medicines that can increase the life expectancy of the population.
In addition, the list of registered drugs of JSC Biochemik includes Gepreda (lyophilizate), Clarithromycin, Citicoline, etc.
In total, for 7 months of 2019, JSC Biochemik received registration certificates for 27 medicines of various forms. By the end of the year, about 15 more medicines will receive an official document.
JSC Biochemist is actively developing and implementing a policy of import substitution. Every year, the plant launches dozens of new medicines, providing consumers with effective, safe and high-quality medicines at affordable prices.
