Leading universities of the country will train specialists for Promomed Group of Companies

18.06.2022

On the third day of the SPIEF in St. Petersburg, cooperation agreements were signed between the Promomed Group of companies and three of the country's largest universities. — Russian University of Chemical Technology named after Mendeleev, Moscow State Medical and Dental University named after Evdokimov and the National Research Mordovian State University named after Ogareva.

Based on the state program "Development of the Pharmaceutical and medical industry", approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 04/15/2014 No. 305, regarding the creation of additional high-tech jobs requiring highly qualified workers, Promomed Group continues to expand cooperation with Russian higher educational institutions in the field of training specialized personnel for the domestic pharmaceutical industry. The agreements signed on the sidelines of the forum are aimed at solving several tasks at once — popularization of professions related to high-tech production in the field of pharmaceuticals, training highly specialized specialists, advanced training of pharmaceutical production workers and conducting joint research in the field of developing new medicines.

Promomed Group of Companies and Moscow State Medical University named after Evdokimova agreed to develop training in specialized educational programs for the needs of the pharmaceutical industry, in particular in the specialties of "Medical Cybernetics" and "Pharmacy", and to cooperate in improving the skills of existing industry employees.

Peter Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed Group, shared during the signing ceremony: I spent my youth years as a student at Moscow State Medical University, my alma mater not only awarded me a doctor's degree, which I am proud of, but also shaped me in many ways. I am especially pleased to return after so many years as a partner of a respected university, which will help enthusiastic young people get a profession in the pharmaceutical industry. Of course, we are waiting for the first graduates in our production facilities, in our R&D hub, and in our laboratories."

Oleg Yanushevich, Rector of Moscow State Medical University: "The future of medicine lies in new technologies and new dosage forms. Peter Alexandrovich responded to our call for targeted training of specialists for production, and after that we actually started opening two new faculties. We are discussing not only the training of personnel, but also the scientific program. And I hope that this will give not only us, but also the country, in addition to first-class personnel, new drugs and new dosage forms."

Promomed Group of Companies and Ogarev Moscow State University will continue their cooperation in joint scientific research in the field of creating medicines and biologically active substances, as well as strengthen the training of students in such areas as bachelor's and master's degrees in Biotechnology and postgraduate degrees in Biotechnology of Food Products, Medicines and Biologically Active Substances.

Peter the White: "Since Promomed came to the region by acquiring the Biochemik plant in Saransk, the history of the company and the University have been inextricably linked. We teach students at our department and in our laboratories; the university helps to improve the skills of our staff; together we conduct clinical trials of the most important, life-saving drugs; together we develop new ones. We have new joint specialized education programs in biotechnology, scientific research of our graduate students, as well as extremely relevant work for us on the creation of medicines and pharmaceutical substances."

Dmitry Glushko, Rector of Ogarev Moscow State University: "Indeed, the cooperation is strong. Two institutes, a faculty, a large group of teachers and scientists are involved in this work, a youth laboratory has been created, which is successfully developing today and this is just one of the results of joint activities. Of course, I would like to note that such an interest and deep understanding on the part of the company that a specialist coming out of university should be able to do is rare."

The trilateral signing of an agreement between the Promomed Group of Companies, the Mendeleev Engineering Center (MIC) and the Mendeleev Russian Technical Technical University marked the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial cooperation in the development of specialized education at the university in the areas of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical biotechnology, and joint research in the field of biotech.

Peter Bely: "Our cooperation does not begin here and not today. We have been working productively with the engineering center for a long time, developing programs with the RCTU. But I would call these pilot projects. Now we are opening a chapter of systematic, long-term and, I am sure, effective cooperation. We face very serious challenges: to develop innovative medicines, create active pharmaceutical substances for new generations of medicines, train professionals and engage them with our goals and plans."

Ilya Vorotyntsev, Acting Rector of the Mendeleev Russian Technical Technical University: "Personnel training is an important component of any university's activities. We have been doing this for a long time, efficiently and well. It's great that the students will see the high-tech enterprises in which they will work from the very first courses. Moreover, an agreement on targeted training can be concluded already during training, so that after graduation you can go to work for one of the leading companies in the real sector of the economy."

On the first day of the forum, the first of the planned Promomed Group signings with the country's largest universities also took place. JSC Biochemist of Promomed Group and SPCFU have agreed to work together to develop long-term, effective and mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of training highly qualified personnel for the domestic pharmaceutical industry, staff development and joint scientific research in the field of creating medicines and biologically active substances*.
