Maxim Reshetnikov visited the Biochemik plant as part of his acquaintance with the participants of the national project "Increasing Labor Productivity and Employment Support", which Promomed joined as one of the first in 2018 to optimize production processes at Biochemik. Andrey Belousov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government, oversees the project.
Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development, accompanied by Artyom Zdunov, Acting Head of the Republic of Mordovia, the FCC team led by Nikolai Solomon, and Peter Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed Group, walked through the workshop, observing the entire path of creating medicines - from the preparation of pharmaceutical substances to labeling and packaging.
"The minister's attention to detail, interest, and deep understanding of the importance of developments and technologies at an innovative enterprise of the Biochemistry level indicate that the Government is seriously engaged in national drug safety issues and is ready to support domestic companies in their ambitions for breakthrough growth," Pyotr Bely shared his impressions.
Maxim Reshetnikov, addressing the company's staff, noted: "You are really doing an important job — helping to save lives. You have a wonderful company and team. Your development plans are ambitious. You are sensitive to everything new. I will give you strength and patience to realize all your plans."
"As a result of the joint work with the experts of the FCC, the enterprises participating in the national project from Mordovia have gained enough experience to replicate our practices independently. If we look at the average values of key production indicators based on the results of projects, the FCC experts increase production at the pilot site by more than 50% and reduce process time and work-in-progress by 40%. The main resource of targeted support for enterprises is human resources. The country's leading experts on the development of production systems stand side by side with the employees of the enterprises. This is how they transfer their skills to them, training them to look for losses on their own and increase production efficiency," said Nikolai Solomon, General Director of the FCC.
Following the results of the first stage of participation in the Labor Productivity project, Promomed Group managed to double the volume of production of finished medicines in ampoules at Biochemistry, to 180 million units per year. The company plans to multiply the production of all dosage forms by 2025, as well as significant capital investments in expansion and modernization.
"We have very serious plans to expand the company, develop and update the drug portfolio. We are developing innovative drugs in the most critical areas of medicine: infection control, endocrinology, neurology, and more recently, oncology. Our anti-covid portfolio continues to expand, now, along with the antiviral drug Areplivir and modern antibiotics, there is, for example, the anticoagulant Enoparin. The implementation of these plans requires a significant increase in factory capacity and the introduction of optimal processes. FCK's lean manufacturing techniques have proved extremely useful to us, and we will continue to use the experience gained by developing the plant and research laboratories," concluded Peter Bely.
