The Russian healthcare system has all the necessary mechanisms and capabilities for long—term planning of purchases and formation of reserves of medicines, which will allow enterprises to systematically organize production and guarantee uninterrupted availability of medicines for patients," Maxim Smagin, CEO of Promomed, said in his speech at the conference "Drug Supply — 360 degrees".

According to the speaker, this is especially important during the pandemic, when the capacities of pharmaceutical enterprises are maximally loaded with the production of anti-covid drugs, while the need for medicines of other nosologies remains high, including due to complications after coronavirus infection.

In addition, the speaker raised the issue of registration and market launch of new drugs. "The 441 Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation made it possible to promptly develop and put into circulation medicines that combat COVID-19 during the pandemic. But I suggest not to forget about other pathologies oncology, endocrinology, and the cardiovascular system, where companies also have important good developments, but their registration cycle will take a lot of time according to the current federal law. I believe it is necessary to think about the possibility of extending the decree to original drugs of life-threatening nosologies. Practice has shown that this mechanism works and is very effective."
