PROMOMED, a leading Russian manufacturer of innovative medicines for obesity and diabetes, announces a 33% reduction in the price of Tirzetta®, the first tirzepatide on the domestic market.

Tirzetta® is a sought-after domestic competitor to the American drug Mounjaro® for weight loss and reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The active ingredient is tirzepatide, the newest class of double incretins that activate two types of receptors regulating metabolism at once — GIP and GLP-1. Their combined effect ensures greater selectivity of the mechanism of regulation of metabolism, levels of insulin and glucose in the blood, and the metabolic rate in body tissues and organs. Weight loss occurs against the background of maintaining a muscular corset and forming a physiologically correct "beautiful" silhouette.

Tirzetta® and American Mounjaro® products are united by the presence of an innovative molecule in the composition and the absence of preservatives.

Tirzetta® is produced at PROMOMED PJSC's own facilities from the substance to the finished dosage form. Tirzetta® is available as a solution for subcutaneous administration in dosages of 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg and 15 mg in intuitive, single-use, intuitive automatic injectors.

"According to official statistics, 40 million people in Russia are obese, and 60 million are overweight. Obesity is not only an aesthetic problem, but also a serious risk factor for health, including cardiovascular diseases and cancer. We are talking about a national problem that can be solved by modern and sought-after therapy.

Production volumes of Tirzetta® have increased. Technological improvements and cost optimization in the production of large batches have made the drug even more affordable in response to the growing need for healthy and long-term weight loss. Today's movement towards meeting the needs of each individual patient and the entire medical community makes it possible to prevent the occurrence of pathology and thereby defeat previously incurable diseases tomorrow.", - Lyudmila Kovalchuk, Director of Marketing and Sales at PROMOMED Endocrinology, noted.

The new price comes into effect on May 6, 2025 and applies to the entire line of Tirzetta®.
