On June 9, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Murat Kerefov paid a business visit to JSC Biochemik, Promomed Group's production site. The delegation also included Natalia Sheremetova, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor Productivity, Protection and Promotion of Investments at the Ministry of Economic Development, Batyr Emeev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Mordovia, and Ivan Gorin, Acting Minister of Economy, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Mordovia. Alexander Efremov, CEO of Promomed DM, and Dmitry Zemskov, Director of Information Policy at the Company, showed one of the most modern tablet and capsule production facilities.
The high-tech production facility was opened in December last year. The site is equipped with advanced technologies, including for the manufacture of multilayer and composite tablets produced in conditions of photosensitivity and zero humidity. It produces original, full-cycle research medicines developed in the Company's own R&D center. These are antiviral, antitumor, endocrinological, and neurological drugs. The production capacity is one billion tablets per year. Investments in the project amounted to more than 1.8 billion rubles.
Promomed Group of Companies is a recipient of state support under concessional financing through loans from the Industrial Development Fund. Last year, about 500 million rubles of public funds were raised, and total investments in the reconstruction and modernization of the plant exceeded 5 billion rubles. By the middle of 2023, total investments in the development of production exceeded 5.5 billion rubles.
During the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Economic Development, Dmitry Zemskov, Director of Information Policy at Promomed Group, spoke about the implementation of the national project "Labor Productivity". JSC Biochemist was one of the first companies in the republic to participate, choosing a workshop for the production of finished medicines in ampoules as an experimental site. A year later, the volume of drug production increased by 2 times and amounted to about 15 million ampoules per year, and after optimization, the site itself began to occupy only one floor instead of four floors. Construction of new production lines began on the vacant sites: a site for the production of medicines in the form of lyophilizate, with a capacity of 4 million vials per year, and a site for the production of medicines in pre-filled syringes, with a capacity of more than 14 million units per year.
At the site of JSC Biochemik, an exchange of views took place on possible areas of support for the sovereign pharmaceutical industry, protection and encouragement of investments in high-tech and technologically complex industries, special investment contracts, Industrial Development Fund programs, cutting-edge and innovative medicines, both already produced at Biochemik and planned to be localized at the plant in 2023-24
"The meeting turned out to be productive, and in a working dialogue they discussed possible areas of state support for the production of cutting-edge drugs, next-in-class drugs, the development of innovative molecules and modern drug combinations. The Ministry has established working groups and think tanks on the problems facing our economy. After hearing our logic of production development, we were invited to participate in the pharmaceutical working group. Dmitry Nikolaevich took it upon himself to build cooperation with this working group," Alexander Yefremov, General Director of Promomed DM, summed up the results.
