PROMOMED — Animal Health, a Russian pharmaceutical company, announces the registration of Flexonorm®, an analgesic drug for cats, created at the PROMOMED Group's production facilities on a full-cycle basis: from the substance to the finished dosage form. Its appearance is intended to solve the problem of the shortage of safe and effective medicines for pain control in small pets[1].

Flexonorm® Cat is designed for rapid and long-term pain relief and inflammation relief in cats. The drug, in particular, is indicated for reducing pain in joint injuries and diseases, such as osteoarthritis, as well as for pain relief in the postoperative period. The active ingredient of the drug is robenacoxib. Flexonorm® Cat has a highly selective effect and is therefore characterized by a high safety profile for animals with minimal risk of gastrointestinal side effects.

The creation of the drug is the result of a successful collaboration between industry and science. Scientists from the Don State Technical University, NPO DOM of PHARMACY JSC and the All-Russian State Center for Quality and Standardization of Medicines for Animals and Feed (FGBI VGNKI) made a significant contribution to the research part of the project.

Flexonorm® Cat is available in tablet form, the size of which is convenient for use. The dosage is calculated taking into account the body weight of the animal. This makes it easier for veterinarians to prescribe treatment, and for owners to carry it out. The drug has passed all the necessary preclinical and clinical trials that have confirmed its effectiveness and safety, has gone on sale and will soon be widely available in veterinary pharmacies and clinics.

According to RNC Pharma[2], the retail commercial market of veterinary NSAIDs for oral use in pets for 11 months of 2025 amounted to 2.4 million packages, or 1.1 billion rubles (in retail prices). The increase in rubles was +10%.
