A new Russian weight loss drug has received a registration certificate. A domestic drug based on liraglutide will help close the full range of anti-obesity drugs by replacing the products of a foreign manufacturer that has left the country.

Production will begin in the near future: in the first decade of October, the drug will go on sale at retail.
According to the press service of Promomed Group, the launch of the new drug on the market was a logical step towards implementing an overall import substitution strategy aimed at adequately and comprehensively meeting the needs of Russians for high-quality medicines for the treatment of serious diseases such as diseases of the endocrine and cardiovascular systems.

The development was launched on the market as soon as possible - several months after the shortage of funds based on liraglutide caused by the cessation of its regular supplies to the Russian Federation. The launch of production of a domestic drug makes it possible to fill the gap and meet up to 100% of the need for funds for the treatment of obesity in Russian patients as early as 2023.

Obtaining a registration certificate for a new drug significantly expands the range of products aimed at combating obesity, closing it and providing the domestic consumer with a full range of effective medicines.
