Russia is fully supplied with drugs against COVID-19, including against its new strains — production continues, and stocks are available in warehouses, Peter Bely, chairman of the board of directors of the Promomed group of companies, told reporters.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Federal Operational Headquarters for combating the new Coronavirus infection reported that the incidence of coronavirus infection in Russia increased by 48% over the past week, and 1,973 people were hospitalized, which is 20.6% more than in the previous week.

"The latest strain that is coming, it is indeed more contagious, which means that its transmission will be many times greater than that of many previous versions. Nevertheless, we are not afraid of it, because the therapy that we have developed, and in our country we have a full portfolio, the entire range of all cutting-edge products... they act on the part of the virus that does not change in any way as a result of the mutation," said Bely, commenting on the situation with the country's supply of drugs against COVID-19.

According to him, the drug directly blocks the universal mechanism of reproduction for the entire family of these viruses. "We are not afraid of anything, the country is secured, there are stocks in the distributors' warehouses, we do not have to wait for anything, our production facilities allow us to provide the whole country. All medicines are available in the required volume," the Chairman of the Council of Ministers added.

However, Bely noted that the production volume is lower now. "During peak load periods, we made millions of packs per month, now, of course, such production capacities are not needed, fortunately," he concluded.
