Education

On August 27, an educational forum "The education system of the Republic of Mordovia: a new vector of development" was held in Saransk. The event was attended by the Head of the Republic Vladimir Volkov, representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of the Russian Federation and Mordovia, employees of educational organizations, heads of large enterprises.

JSC Biochemist, which is closely involved in the training of qualified personnel, was represented by the Head of the Board of Directors of PROMOMED, Peter Bely, who prepared a vivid presentation.

Before the start of the Forum, the guests visited an exhibition where scientific and technical projects of various educational institutions were presented.

During the plenary session, the results of the industry's work were summed up, and current development directions were outlined. According to the Head of Mordovia, Vladimir Volkov, last year, at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a large-scale national project "Education" was launched in the country.

- Our teaching community is actively involved in the work…The national project is based on the achievement of two key goals: Russian education should be among the top ten in the world and the upbringing of a harmonious personality based on the historical and cultural traditions of our country.… Despite the globality of the goals set, the national project concerns every municipality and every school in Mordovia.

The head of Mordovia added that the republic has an ambitious task to enter the top ten regional educational systems in Russia. And for this, it is necessary to develop a set of measures to integrate talented people into the economy of the republic. "The motivation of young people is important here. If the children know that a particular employer is interested in them, they will not leave for other regions," emphasized Vladimir Dmitrievich.

JSC Biochemik has been demonstrating a vivid example of interest in talented youth and their motivation to achieve academic achievements in recent years. Peter Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PROMOMED, shared his experience in this regard, and he began his speech with a joke that enlivened the audience.:

- People obey Katya, Katya performs on TV, Katya is a very high professional. Where did Katya come from?

Katya, or rather Ekaterina Rogozhina, is a graduate of Krasnodar and a graduate of the Mordovian University. Ogareva, who graduated in 2016, received a scholarship from JSC Biochemist. After graduation, she was immediately hired at the plant and in three years she made a brilliant career – now she is the head of the biotechnology transfer development department of JSC Biochemist.

There are many such examples on Biochemistry. Peter Bely tells how it all started:

- When we joined JSC Biochemik as part of the new management, we faced the problem of a lack of qualified personnel. The footage had to be found somehow. We have received tremendous support from the Moscow State University. Ogarev and personally Sergey Mikhailovich Vdovin, the rector of the university. In a short time, the university management was able to mobilize the best students who were interested in continuing to grow professionally. That's how Katya turned out. This has resulted in a number of notable fellows of JSC Biochemist, who are now successfully working in various positions at our plant. The story of these guys helped us understand that we need to create a systematic professional training environment. That's how our company was born, together with JSC Biochemist and Moscow State University. Ogareva, Department of Chemistry and Technology of Biologically Active Substances.

Peter Bely recalled the story of the Biochemist:

- Many of those sitting in the hall probably remember how the "Biochemist" synthesized penicillin – it was the first generation of antibiotics, harmful production. Now the plant is creating new generations – absolutely safe, high-tech, this is a completely different level, it's like comparing a tram and a spaceship. Three thousand people worked on the synthesis of penicillin, they were located in three huge buildings, and now half of one of the buildings is engaged in the synthesis of vancomycin and it is serviced by four shifts of four people - there is such a big difference in technology. So the advantage of the department that we created together with the university is that the students who study there do not study on laboratory models, not on mockups, but on real production, which is unique to the country. They learn to synthesize substances directly where these substances are produced.

"Biochemist" today, Pyotr Bely recalled, is one of the few enterprises in the country, and at one time even the only one that created the synthesis of substances of the latest domestic antibiotics of the fourth and fifth generations. The importance of the department is so great that Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, and Vladimir Volkov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia, took part in its opening. The opening of the department was widely covered in the media, including a big story featured in "News of the Week with Dmitry Kiselyov."

Continuing the topic of the department, Peter Bely addressed the principals of schools and teachers of Mordovia:

- The department needs people, talented schoolchildren, who will choose it as their further professional education. On the one hand, this is a unique opportunity for a student to understand that after completing their studies, they will find a job and will be engaged in one of the most interesting things, perhaps the most interesting. On the other hand, it is an amazing opportunity for educational institutions to target young people and create a stream of continuing education.

By the way, speaking about continuing education, Peter Bely gave an example of cooperation between JSC Biochemik and the Saransk College of Services and Industrial Technologies.:

- We have been successfully cooperating for a long time, we have a joint laboratory, the kids are interning at our company. But now we are working on a project to create an educational process for people of pre-retirement age. What a post-continuous education!

At the end of his speech, Peter Bely quoted President Vladimir Putin, who said: "Any country is as strong as its industry is strong.":

- The opportunity to attract young people who are just choosing their path to study at one of the best educational institutions and at one of the best enterprises is an opportunity to help them determine their fate and at the same time determine the fate of the country. We can give students a future right now. I really hope that we will succeed," said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PROMOMED.
