The registration certificate was given to the drug Phosphazide, used as part of combination therapy for the treatment of HIV infection, as well as used in the emergency prevention of HIV infection in case of risk of occupational infection. The drug became the sixth registered drug in the company's antiretroviral portfolio.

The mechanism of action of the drug is to suppress the activity of HIV-1 and HIV-2 reverse transcriptase by incorporation into viral DNA, resulting in a chain break and a stop in the reproduction of viral particles. Phosphazide suppresses the replication of other retroviruses, therefore it can be used for the treatment of mild or moderate acute hepatitis B.

The development and production of medicines aimed at the treatment of major critical diseases, including the human immunodeficiency virus, is one of the most important strategic directions in the work of Promomed Group, focused on solving significant medical problems, saving and significantly improving the quality of life of patients. The medicinal product will be produced at JSC Biochemik using the technology of a full production cycle: from the substance to the finished form.

Phosphazide will be available in the form of tablets of 200 and 400 mg, which corresponds to the standard intake regimens.

Like most medicines produced by Promomed Group, this drug is included in the list of VED.
