PROMOMED and the Almazov National Medical Research Center have launched a project aimed at developing prevention and early detection of diseases in the Arctic regions of Russia. Previously partners agreed to join forces to work on the tasks of developing healthcare in the Arctic, where the quality and life expectancy are affected by high levels of stress, harsh climatic conditions and lifestyle features.

The first working step was a meeting with Lena Nikolaevna Afanasyeva, Minister of Health of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The discussion was attended by Tatiana Leonidovna Karonova, MD, Professor, Head of the Research Laboratory of Clinical Endocrinology at the Almazov National Research Medical Center, and Lyudmila Kovalchuk, Marketing and Sales Director of the Endocrinology department at PROMOMED. The parties discussed the possibility of conducting a scientific study of the health status of residents of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The results are expected to provide objective data on the prevalence of risk factors for chronic diseases and help prepare more accurate and effective preventive measures for the region.
The meeting also discussed the prospects for joint work on the prevention and early detection of cardiovascular and endocrine diseases. Experts reviewed the initiative to combine these areas in order to comprehensively assess risk factors and identify health problems at an early stage.
