"PROMOMED" company together with the Ministry of Health of Kuzbass is launching the "Start with Yourself" program in the region, aimed at supporting overweight or obese medical workers. The regional stage of the initiative was launched at a workshop at the Kuzbass Regional Clinical Hospital named after S. V. Belyaev. The program was established in 2025 with the support of Oksana Drapkina, Chief Freelance Specialist in Therapy and General Medical Practice at the Russian Ministry of Health. Kemerovo Region became the fifth participating region.
30 medical specialists from Kuzbass will participate in the six-month program. They will start the examination in the near future. Participants will be guided by Daria Borodkina, Chief Regional Endocrinologist, Head of the Regional Endocrinological Center, Candidate of Medical Sciences, and Olga Mishchenko, Head of the Endocrinology Department of the Kuzbass Regional Clinical Hospital named after S. V. Belyaev, Candidate of Medical Sciences.
The regional Ministry of Health noted that the program is important not only from a medical point of view, but also from a personnel point of view. In conditions of high stress on the healthcare system, the preservation of the health of specialists is becoming one of the factors contributing to the sustainability of medical care in the region.
"Weight loss and improved metabolic health mean not only an increase in the life expectancy of doctors, but also a reduction in their temporary disability. This means that the entire healthcare system in the region is stable," said Anastasia Perevoznikova, Head of the Pharmaceutical Management and Control Department at the Ministry of Health of Kuzbass.
The results of the therapy will be assessed based on body weight dynamics, changes in metabolic parameters, and tolerability of the therapy. PROMOMED will provide the program participants with the necessary information and methodological support and medicines. The Company believes that timely support for medical workers contributes not only to improving their health and quality of life, but also to increasing the sustainability of the healthcare system as a whole.
