The UAE Drug Administration (Emirates Drug Establishment, EDE) conducted an audit of the Biochemist plant, following which the company confirmed compliance with strict international GMP requirements. Thanks to the certificate obtained, PROMOMED can now supply medicines to one of the most promising markets in the Middle East.
"The UAE's top health priorities include healthy longevity. This large-scale direction includes regular physical activity and an active lifestyle, a healthy diet and the prevention of lifestyle-related diseases. This is what the official representatives of this country say.
PROMOMED has accumulated considerable experience in Russia in the field of combating obesity and treating endocrine diseases associated with metabolic disorders. The company is ready to share its best practices with doctors and patients from the UAE. The overall development of bilateral economic relations between our countries contributes to this interaction."
The company produces modern endocrinological drugs Velgia® Eco and Tirzetta®. These medicines are manufactured using advanced technologies, and they do not contain any preservatives, including benzyl alcohol and phenol. The company is expanding its supply portfolio with drugs for the treatment of oncological, orphan, autoimmune diseases, therapy of lesions of the nervous system, and new highly effective anti-infection agents.
The pharmaceutical market of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reached a volume of 4.7 billion US dollars in 2024. According to forecasts, this figure will exceed 7 billion US dollars by 2030. The key factor in development is the rapid growth of the UAE population, driven by both natural growth and migration processes. In addition, due to its advantageous geographical location, world-class logistics infrastructure and favorable business conditions, the UAE is the leading regional pharmaceutical distribution and manufacturing center in the Middle East and Africa. With the continuation of the state's investment policy aimed at developing innovations, research and development in the healthcare sector, the country's pharmaceutical market is expected to grow steadily and the region's export opportunities will increase.
"For PROMOMED, obtaining the UAE GMP certificate is the first step towards the recognition of the Company's production and drugs by other countries of the Arab world. We are confident that PROMOMED's innovative drugs and technologies will make a significant contribution to the emerging architecture of drug safety in the Arab states," concluded Alexander Yefremov.
