PROMOMED Group has started developing a new generation antibiotic

Igor Komarov, Presidential Envoy to the Volga Federal District, and Artyom Zdunov, Acting Head of the Republic of Mordovia, took part in the launch of a pilot production series of the innovative drug.

In the presence of Igor Komarov and Artyom Zdunov, during a visit to the Saransk Biochemist plant (part of PROMOMED Group of Companies), the initial procedure for creating active pharmaceutical substances (APIs) for the production of an innovative new generation antibiotic was carried out. In the future, the drug will be used in the treatment of serious diseases. Its large-scale production will begin next year. "The procedure for creating a biotechnological product is a creative process. This is working with living organisms, whose behavior is not always predictable, and it takes a certain amount of time," said the Executive Director of JSC Biochemist Dmitry Zemskov. - Work on the development of the "reserve antibiotic" has started. After testing the technology of industrial production of the drug, the plant will begin its serial production."

The medicine will be available in hospital form as a lyophilizate for intramuscular and intravenous administration. The pharmaceutical company's technological capacities already allow it to be produced in the volumes necessary to meet all the needs of Russian medical institutions.

Igor Komarov and Artyom Zdunov also visited a workshop for the production of active pharmaceutical substances API for the production of antibiotics and a scientific and production site where promising medicines are being developed at one of the largest domestic pharmaceutical enterprises Biochemik. Peter Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PROMOMED Group, told the guests about the company's transition to full-cycle production and about the innovative developments that the company is conducting, achieving improved efficacy and safety profile of its drugs.

PROMOMED Group is the leader of the domestic pharmaceutical industry in the production of anti-infection drugs with its own scientific and production site of JSC Biochemist. The company has 5 workshops specializing in the production of tablets and capsules, ointments and gels, solutions in ampoules. In total, there are more than 150 names of drugs in the production line of the plant, and about 170 more are under development.
