PROMOMED Group of Companies and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic have agreed to cooperate

The Memorandum of Cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector between the Ministry of Investments of the Kyrgyz Republic and PROMOMED Group of Companies (Russian Federation) was signed on August 19, 2021 within the framework of the III Kyrgyz-Russian Business Forum. The subject of the memorandum was cooperation in the areas of pharmaceutical safety development in the Kyrgyz Republic and providing Kyrgyz citizens with effective and safe antiviral drugs to combat the pandemic.

The signing ceremony was attended by Almambet Shykmamatov, Minister of Investments of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Maxim Smagin, CEO of Promomed DM LLC.
The parties agreed to join efforts to ensure the supply of medicines to the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, manufactured on the basis of modern innovative technological solutions in compliance with the Eurasian GMP standards and having high proven effectiveness. The memorandum also confirms the intention of the Russian side to transfer pharmaceutical production technologies to the newly created joint venture and provide it with support in the research and production fields.
In addition, thanks to the agreement reached, one of the largest Russian universities, Ogarev Mordovian State University, will open the opportunity for students from Kyrgyzstan to receive higher education at the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Physiologically Active Substances, established with the support of Promomed Group of Companies. The uniqueness of the department lies in its close cooperation with the pharmaceutical plant Biochemik (part of Promomed Group of Companies), students' internships directly at the enterprise, and the opportunity to practice in laboratories and workshops.
The signing was the result of a meeting in May 2021 between the Presidents of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov. During the conversation, Vladimir Putin noted: "We are also cooperating in the fight against the pandemic. Russia provides and intends to continue to support Kyrgyzstan in the supply of test systems, antiviral drugs and vaccines."
Based on the signed document, guided by its spirit and provisions, the parties will identify a company that will be certified by the Russian side as an exclusive dealer of the drug Areplivir in the territory of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan with the possibility of potential expansion of the territory.
Within the framework of the memorandum, drugs developed and manufactured by Promomed Group of Companies at its Biochemist biotechnological site in Saransk will be supplied. The parties agreed on this in Moscow on May 28, 2021 (link to the release on the first signing).
Almambet Shykmamatov, Minister of Investment of the Kyrgyz Republic, noted: "The pandemic has become a challenge for the national health of all countries, the Kyrgyz Republic is no exception. We studied the potential of international drug developers very carefully before making a choice. The Russian company Promomed is not only the undisputed leader in the creation of drugs to fight infections, but also the owner of one of the most innovative and powerful pharmaceutical production bases. I welcome our new partners and am confident in the success of cooperation for the benefit of the people of Kyrgyzstan."
