As part of the joint work with the Center for Advanced Technologies, Promomed Group of companies received three patents for its own unique developments in an accelerated mode.

Radamine® Promomed's Viro is a unique drug due to its mechanism of action. The active ingredient of the drug, double–stranded sodium RNA salt, stimulates the production of all major types of interferons, triggering an adequate innate and adaptive immune response, which ensures the rapid onset of therapeutic effect and protects the body from various viral and bacterial infections.
By expanding the area of research interest beyond chemical synthesis and turning to biotechnology, Promomed Group specialists were able not only to create their first biotechnological product, but also to develop a unique technology for the production and purification of the product.
To patent its inventions, the company used the program of the Center for Advanced Technologies, launched on the basis of Rospatent. As part of the joint work with the agency, Promomed Group of companies received not only assistance in the issues of complex patenting of developments, but also the opportunity to obtain security documents for their developments in the fast-track mode.
"This collaboration resulted in three Russian patents in pharmaceuticals at once. They provide legal protection to an RNA-based antiviral drug for the prevention and treatment of coronavirus infection and methods for obtaining its components. The drug is completely domestic. Its innovation consists in a rapid immune response, which occurs within 2-6 hours after using the drug and provides a natural protective reaction of the body," said Yuri Zubov, head of Rospatent.
The support program implemented by the Assistance Center is fully based on the norms of current legislation and does not violate the protected rights of other patent holders, including foreign ones.
"The activity of the Assistance Center is the very long—awaited tool from Rospatent, which was necessary for pharmaceutical manufacturers to protect innovative solutions and work comfortably in the Russian market. Now, thanks to the fast track, we have already received three patents for our biotech drug Radamine® in a short time. Viro, I can say with confidence that this algorithm works, it is effective and really allows you to quickly resolve issues of protecting the interests of developers," said Peter Bely, Head of the Board of Directors of Promomed Group.
