The biopharmaceutical company PROMOMED has expanded its portfolio of gastroenterology. The double-acting hepatoprotector Gepreda® (INN ademetionine) has been introduced into civil circulation. The production of the drug is fully localized at the domestic Biochemist enterprise in Saransk. The drug from the substance to the finished form is produced on the factory lines. Thanks to this, the Company provides stable access to modern therapy for Russian patients.

Gepreda® has a complex effect: promotes the restoration of liver cells and increases cellular energy. The drug normalizes the outflow of bile from the liver and biliary tract, reduces the toxic load, protects liver cells and slows down the formation of scar tissue. In addition, ademethionine has a positive effect on the psychoemotional state of the patient. This is especially important for patients with chronic liver diseases, who often experience weakness and fatigue. According to research Ademetionine is one of the most promising drugs for combating general weakness in various liver pathologies in both short—term and long-term therapy.

The relevance of the drug launch is also confirmed by market data. The segment of hepatoprotectors is showing steady growth, reflecting stable demand for drugs for the treatment of liver diseases. According to DSM Offtake MAT’05 2026, the market volume in monetary terms reached 49 billion rubles, which is 15.3% more than in the previous year. In physical terms, the growth was +7.7% compared to the previous year. The key drivers of the segment's development remain drugs based on ursodeoxycholic acid and ademetionine, which form the main vector of market development.

Gepreda® is available in the form of enteric-soluble film-coated tablets. In the near future, the drug will appear in online pharmacies, and it will be distributed offline in parallel.
