PROMOMED's Velgia®: a new domestic drug based on semaglutide is already on pharmacy shelves, and the course of treatment is a third more affordable than its analogues

PROMOMED, a leading innovative biopharmaceutical company, one of the largest Russian pharmaceutical manufacturers, announces the launch of sales of a new generation domestic drug for the treatment of overweight and obesity, Velgia^® (INN semaglutide). The first batches of the drug have already been delivered to pharmacies in Russia.

The new drug is primarily aimed at overweight and obese patients.  The drug significantly reduces weight, and also helps to correct disorders underlying cardiovascular and oncological diseases, which are the main causes of death in Russia.

Velgia^® is available in five dosages, each of which contains specially selected concentrations to achieve optimal weight loss results. For comfortable use, the Company has improved the pen by creating a convenient push-button mechanism for drug administration – the drug is administered with just one light touch, which ensures the simplicity and ease of use of the drug by patients. One syringe pen contains 4 identical doses and is designed for a month of use. In addition, the kit includes needles for subcutaneous injection.

Thanks to technologies, innovative solutions, a specially designed syringe pen and localization of production, the cost of the drug is one third less than its analogues, which makes it as affordable as possible for patients and reduces the cost of a course of therapy.
