Promomed Group participated in the business breakfast "Import substitution of medicines in the healthcare sector: results of 2023 and development prospects in 2024", organized by GBU "City Investment Management Agency". The company's participants in the event were Peter Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed Group, and Alexander Efremov, CEO of Promomed Group.

Presentations at the event were made by Vladislav Ovchinsky, Minister of the Moscow Government, Director of the Moscow Investment and Industrial Policy Department, Dmitry Galkin, Director of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Yulia Antipova, Deputy Head of the Moscow Health Department, as well as representatives of government authorities and large pharmaceutical companies.

Peter Bely drew the audience's special attention to the importance of supporting domestic pharmaceutical companies at the stage of clinical research. He also noted that the Promomed Group's strategy aimed at producing innovative medicines and introducing high technologies is in line with the government's goal of deepening the sovereignty of the pharmaceutical industry and strengthening the country's drug safety.

Alexander Efremov, in his report "Import substitution and Innovative products as the main goal of developing Promomed's biotechnological production in Moscow," recalled that the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy and Promomed Group of Companies signed a cooperation agreement at SPIEF 2023. This agreement provides for the creation of a modern research laboratory with a pilot production site for the development of new drugs, including original ones, at the sites of the Alabushevo and Pechatniki Technopolises.

Alexander also spoke about the factors that allow the company to reach a new technological level: "Promomed builds its work on the basis of high technologies. The group includes the Biochemist plant in Saransk, which launched the country's largest production of active pharmaceutical substances in 2023. The opening of this production facility was attended by Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. There is no second such plant in the country in terms of capacity, we are moving ahead, we are ready to synthesize those substances that no one has done before us.

Our work is also based on an innovative approach. We are able to combine technologies, scientific research and production specifics. And the result of this work is medicines that are treated more effectively and safer, and which often have no analogues. For example, our covid drugs fight the virus at the most basic level, blocking the possibility of virus division. These are Areplivir, Esperavir, and Skyvira. A drug similar to Skyvira still does not exist technologically.

Biotechnologies are another key aspect of the Promomed Group's work. We are developing biotechnological products that we plan to bring to the pharmaceutical cluster platform in Moscow in the future.

Import substitution is an important block for us. In 2023, in just seven months, Promomed developed, put into production and released drugs for the treatment of diabetes, including for obese patients, Quincenta and Enligria, which replaced a drug from a foreign manufacturer that stopped supplying to Russia. This development has given rise to new research that we are conducting in Moscow in order to provide patients in Russia and abroad with vital medicines."
