PROMOMED has completed the tender procedures for selecting contractors to perform construction and installation work as part of a project to create a small-batch production facility at the Biochemist plant in Saransk. All contractors selected based on the results of competitive procedures represent Mordovia. The total amount of contracts will exceed 400 million rubles. About 100 specialists will be involved in the implementation of the project.
"Due to the modernization of existing facilities, we plan to create a specialized production complex. Its total area will be more than 5.5 thousand square meters, including 755.9 square meters. m of clean rooms. The production of active pharmaceutical substances and 12 ready-made dosage forms will be organized at the site: from soft gelatin capsules, tablets and hard capsules to pre-filled syringes, freeze-dried forms, injection solutions, powders, drinking solutions and suspensions in sticks. It will be a separate plant on seven sites inside a large combine."
The old partitions have already been dismantled at the facility, the floor has been filled in, and work has begun on laying linoleum. In parallel, tenders for the purchase of equipment have been completed, suppliers have been identified and supply contracts have been concluded. Almost all the pieces of equipment are at the manufacturing stage, some have already been delivered to the site. In the near future, the first line of equipment will begin to be brought in.
The project is aimed at developing a technological base in Russia for the production of small-batch drugs, primarily in demand in the treatment of rare diseases, including orphan diseases. For such drugs, standard large-scale production lines are often not suitable: demand can be measured in tens or hundreds of packages per year, while production requires specialized equipment and highly qualified personnel.
After the launch of the new site, the Company plans to consistently scale new technologies and increase the availability of innovative therapy for Russian patients.
