A research center for the development and implementation of innovative biotechnological pharmaceutical products is planned to be established in Mordovia at the site of the regional operator of the Skolkovo Foundation; a corresponding trilateral agreement was signed as part of SPIEF 2022 between Promomed Group, Biochemist JSC (part of the Promomed Group) and the Skolkovo Foundation.

"For us, this is one of the key agreements and huge opportunities. Our tasks lie in the field of innovation. And they are very interesting. We have signed an agreement with the Skolkovo Foundation on the development of an innovation cluster, as Skolkovo has a very strong division in Mordovia, where our large Biochemist plant is located. And together we will be engaged in the development and implementation of innovative biotechnological pharmaceutical products. For the republic and the foundation itself, this helps accelerate innovation, but for us it is our daily bread. That is, the task is to make sure that as many of the latest biotechnological molecules appear as possible – right here in Mordovia, where the plant is located. The agreement is very important to us, as Skolkovo is a universal accelerator of innovations with vast experience and expertise. A very powerful partner," Pyotr Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed Group, commented to RIA Novosti.
As noted in Promomed Group of Companies, joint research in the areas of biotechnology, molecular modeling, technologies for the production of active pharmaceutical substances, ready-made dosage forms and components for them are designed to help achieve import independence in order to ensure the drug safety of the Russian Federation.
In particular, the parties intend to conduct and coordinate a full range of preclinical and clinical studies to bring promising developments to the stage of a commercial product.
