PROMOMED has released the latest nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, ReitBufen, with the active ingredient dexibuprofen. Scientists have managed to isolate the most active component of the well-known ibuprofen and obtain an analgesic with improved properties: dexibuprofen is several times more effective in inhibiting inflammatory factors, due to which the result is achieved faster and more pronounced.
Pain is one of the most common reasons for seeking medical help. According to WHO, about 40% of scheduled visits to the doctor are associated with complaints of pain. In emergency situations, pain becomes the main reason for treatment in half of all cases. The vast majority (80%) of general practitioners and rheumatologists, as well as 2/3 of patients, use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to relieve pain and alleviate the condition.
Given the widespread occurrence of pain and the tendency of patients to postpone visits to the doctor, the importance of affordable and well-studied first aid becomes especially obvious. Such drugs include ReitBufen.
The drug is available in the form of film-coated tablets in dosages of 200 mg, 300 mg and 400 mg and is intended for the short-term symptomatic treatment of the most common types of pain: primary dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation); osteoarthritis; other pain syndromes of varying intensity, including muscle, joint, tooth, headache; and fever and aches with flu and acute respiratory viral infections.
Nikolay Goncharov, Candidate of Medical Sciences, traumatologist, noted:
"Expanding the range of nonsteroidal anti—inflammatory drugs is an opportunity to approach the choice of therapy in a personalized manner, especially when it comes to a well-studied class of NSAIDs. For a doctor, the key is not just the speed of the effect, but the optimal ratio of effectiveness and safety. The new drug demonstrates a more pronounced suppression of inflammation compared to ibuprofen, while it has a higher safety profile, including in relation to the gastrointestinal tract. Its analgesic effect is comparable to naproxen and celecoxib, but due to its high safety, the drug is available without a prescription. This is a drug that will achieve lasting results, minimizing risks for the patient. It is important to remember that the balance of efficacy and safety can be maintained by adhering to the principle: apply the minimum effective dose in the shortest possible course."
The drug has already been marketed in Russia.
Victoria Shcherbakova, Medical Director of PROMOMED: "Launching a new painkiller in a well—studied class of NSAIDs is an urgent task and a challenge that requires serious scientific substantiation. We are proud that our drug demonstrates a more pronounced suppression of key inflammatory mediators compared to existing solutions, while ensuring a high level of safety. To create a drug that is as effective as the strongest NSAIDs, but has a better tolerance profile and is suitable for a wide range of people, is the modern understanding of pharmacological progress and patient care."
