PROMOMED, a leading Russian biopharmaceutical company, announces the launch of sales of an innovative drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, Semaltara® (INN semaglutide). This is the first domestic semaglutide in tablets.

Semaglutide, the active ingredient of the drug, has already proven highly effective in injectable therapy and is known for such PROMOTIONAL blockbusters as Quincenta®, Velgia® and Velgia® Eco. Oral administration becomes a solution for patients with a psychological barrier before injections, and can also be used to maintain the results already achieved. Studies show that due to the complex effect on metabolic processes and the pronounced effect in reducing body weight, tableted semaglutide demonstrates the best results compared to other oral antidiabetic agents in achieving the endpoints of diabetes therapy. The high quality and predictability of the drug's action are ensured by its own full-cycle technology, which guarantees the necessary absorption of the drug in the gastrointestinal tract. This innovative delivery platform technology opens up new possibilities for other peptide molecules, including, for example, thyroid hormones.

"Modern therapy of type 2 diabetes requires an integrated approach aimed at achieving metabolic health. In this context, GLP-1 agonists represent a unique class of drugs that simultaneously solve several key tasks: they provide glycemic control, promote weight loss, have proven cardio- and nephroprotective effects, and improve the lipid profile, which directly affects the prognosis of duration and quality of life. Of particular importance today is the fact that these advanced and effective therapeutic solutions have been developed and manufactured in Russia and, as a result, our patients are guaranteed to receive high-quality drugs."

The new tablet form is designed to increase patient adherence to treatment, which is a key factor in long-term disease control. A variety of dosage forms allows for an individual approach to the treatment of a wide range of patients. It is important that the possibility of switching to tablets after completion of injection therapy facilitates the consolidation and maintenance of the achieved results.

"The launch of Semaltara® is a significant event for Russian medicine. Doctors and patients in our country can use the latest therapeutic tools and be confident in their quality and constant availability," notesLyudmila Kovalchuk, Marketing and Sales Director of Endocrinology. — We are solving two key tasks: ensuring the availability of modern drugs in the country and offering another comfortable format that will help doctors and patients achieve metabolic health."

Semaltara® is an analog of Rebelsas® from the Danish company Novo Nordisk, which stopped supplying its product to Russia in 2024. PROMOMED is ready to meet the needs of Russians for a drug included in clinical guidelines worldwide, providing access to the most relevant and technologically advanced solutions in the field of endocrinology. Semaltara® is manufactured at our own Biochemist plant in a full cycle, from the substance to the finished dosage form. This guarantees stable supply of the finished product and independence from foreign manufacturers.

The drug will be available for retail sale in three dosages: 3 mg, 7 mg and 14 mg. The new product will be available in pharmacies throughout Russia within the next month. The vacation will be carried out on a doctor's prescription.

PROMOMED company creates drugs for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity, the incidence of which is steadily increasing.
