By Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 3930-r, the permit for the use of inventions protected by patents of the Danish company Novo Nordisk has been extended until the end of 2025. PROMOMED Group will continue to produce a line of medicines based on semaglutide.

"The number of patients suffering from obesity and metabolic disorders in our country alone is more than 40 million people. This is almost half of the total working-age population in Russia. The problem has reached pandemic proportions. In this situation, the government and the pharmaceutical industry face the strategic task of providing each patient with the necessary drugs. PROMOMED has assumed this social responsibility, and in 2025, with the support of the state, it is ready to provide every patient with the necessary amount of drugs," said Ilya Bardin-Denisov, CEO of PROMOMED DM LLC.

PROMOMED was one of the first companies to receive permission to use patent-protected inventions. Such a permit is issued on the basis of the conclusion of a special subcommittee on the use of inventions, utility models and industrial designs in order to ensure the economic security of Russia.

The entry into force of Decree No. 3930-r will keep drugs on the domestic market. Quincenta® for the treatment of diabetes mellitus and Velgia® for the treatment of overweight and obesity. For the production of these medicines, PROMOMED has developed its own technology of solid-phase peptide synthesis, which, unlike the biotechnological method used in the production of original drugs, has a number of advantages. The Russian development makes it possible to ensure the quality and the highest safety profile of products, as well as to remove the restrictions on scaling production faced by a foreign manufacturer.

PROMOMED's production facilities will allow patients in all regions of Russia to be fully supplied with semaglutide-based drugs.
