The Skolkovo Foundation and the Promomed Group of companies have agreed on joint projects in the field of biotechnology, molecular modeling, and the creation of new dosage forms and components for them. The cooperation agreement was signed within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the press service of the foundation reported on Friday.


"A new era in medicine has arrived — biotechnologies, RNA therapy, and top-quality domestic substances are the answer to the challenges of the time. We will answer them together with the leader of innovation, the Skolkovo Foundation. We see great prospects in joint work on modeling candidate molecules for medicines, developing methods for synthesizing pharmaceutical substances, optimizing and improving production technologies for APIS and finished dosage forms, and in other areas," said Peter Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed Group of Companies, quoted in the message.

According to the foundation, a research and development center (R&D center) may be established on the basis of the Mordovia Technopark to develop cooperation. Its tasks will include conducting and coordinating preclinical and clinical studies necessary for the further commercialization of the products being developed. According to Igor Drozdov, Chairman of the Board of the Skolkovo Foundation, the project will help Russia achieve import independence in the field of creating domestic medicines.

"One of the priorities of the state program for the Development of the Pharmaceutical and medical industry is import independence. This task is "Skolkovo" It aims to cooperate with leading domestic pharmaceutical companies. We are confident that the partner center based on our regional operator in Mordovia will benefit in the creation of medicines for the residents of our country," Drozdov emphasized.
