The current version of the guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus infection, prepared by leading Russian experts in the field of infectious diseases, is available on the website of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The list of medicines for therapy also includes the new Skyvira® drug manufactured by Promomed Group of Companies.


A drug for targeted etiotropic therapy of COVID-19 based on nirmatrelvir and ritonavir, created using a unique technology from a new generation of drugs. Skyvira® attacks completely different targets specific to the coronavirus. In other words, the drug completely blocks the process of virus reproduction inside the cell. Ritonavir, acting as a pharmacokinetic enhancer, ensures long-term maintenance of the required concentration of nirmatrelvir in the body and increases the effectiveness of therapy.

"Clinical studies have shown a pronounced antiviral effect of a new drug for the treatment of COVID-19, reducing the risk of disease progression to more severe forms and accelerating recovery. The targeted mechanism of action on the viral protease determines the success of treatment regardless of the SARS-CoV-2 strain. At the moment, Promomed's Skyvir drug can be indicated for outpatient treatment of mild or moderate coronavirus infection in adults," said Vladimir Chulanov, Chief freelance Specialist in Infectious diseases at the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Deputy Director for Scientific Work and Innovative Development of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "National Medical Research Center of Phthisiopulmonology and Infectious Diseases" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

"Each new drug in Promomed's antiviral portfolio provides an opportunity for a more personalized approach to patient therapy, taking into account concomitant pathology, drug interactions, duration of symptoms, etc., and therefore more effective treatment," commented Kira Zaslavskaya, Director of New Products at Promomed Group.

For the treatment of COVID-19 in adults, a daily dose of 600 mg of nirmatrelvir + 200 mg of ritonavir (1 tablet 2 times a day) with a duration of treatment of 5 days is indicated. It is recommended to start treatment as early as possible after the diagnosis of a new coronavirus infection and/or within 5 days after the first symptoms of the disease appear.
