The ceremonial opening of a new high-tech tablet production took place at the Biochemist plant of Promomed Group

On December 17, 2022, on the basis of the Biochemist plant, Promomed Group's production site, the grand opening of a new high-tech tablet production took place with the participation of Viktor Bondarev, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Artyom Zdunov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia, Fedot Tumusov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health, Sergey Glagolev, Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, as well as heads of executive authorities of the Republic of Mordovia and institutions of higher professional education. Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, delivered a video message.

The new high-tech line of JSC Biochemik is intended for the production of strategically important drugs, including in case of termination of supplies of foreign pharmaceutical companies, according to the instructions of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The production capacity is 1 billion tablets per year. Investments in the project amounted to more than 1.8 billion rubles.

Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, noted in his video message: "The pharmaceutical industry responded promptly to the challenges of COVID-19 and promptly launched the production of drugs that saved thousands of lives of our citizens. I would like to express my confidence that the inclusion of a new production site among Russian pharmaceutical manufacturers will allow us to become more confident, and this will be the key to the development of healthcare in general and the pharmaceutical industry in particular in the Russian Federation."

Promomed Group's new tablet manufacturing facility is one of the most modern production facilities in Europe, where vacuum transfer technologies are used instead of human labor. The line is equipped with the most modern technologies, including for the manufacture of multilayer and composite tablets produced in conditions of photosensitivity and zero humidity.

"You are on the right track, and I sincerely thank you for what you have done and that you will do a lot more. You make a huge contribution to the drug safety of our state," said Viktor Bondarev, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security.

"By opening such production facilities, we are proving to the whole world that Russia is capable of being completely technologically independent. We can produce the necessary equipment, train people, go all the way to protect intellectual property, and act as a single team," said Artyom Zdunov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia.

The new facility will produce antiviral, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, and hepatoprotective drugs, as well as the production of drugs in the form of sachets in the near future. Control over the provision of the required conditions and technological parameters is carried out using monitoring, data collection, dispatching and timely control of technological process parameters, which allows us to produce products of the highest quality on all lines of the Biochemist plant.

"Now Russia has the equipment to produce cutting-edge drugs of any degree of complexity, which can really save lives, for the treatment of particularly important nosologies," said Peter Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed Group.

At the opening ceremony, the best employees of the enterprise were awarded honorary diplomas of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, commendations from the Head of the Republic of Mordovia, as well as honorary diplomas from the State Duma Committee on Health Protection.
