The delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation visited the Promomed Group production site

On September 21, as part of a business visit to the Republic of Mordovia, a delegation led by Dmitry Krutoy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation, and Denis Timokhin, Adviser to the Embassy, visited the Promomed Group's production site, the Biochemist plant. The delegation was received by Igor Gubaidullin, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Mordovia. Alexey Klyuchnikov, Director of Production at Biochemik JSC, spoke about the company's innovative developments, demonstrating the workshop of active pharmaceutical substances for new-generation antibiotics and the RnD center, which develops innovative drugs.

The delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus was introduced to the work of the Company's New Drug Development Center (RnD). Promomed annually invests about 10% of its turnover in research and development. The total area of laboratory and technological units is about 2,000 square meters. It includes an analytical laboratory, a laboratory for the development of finished medicines and pharmaceutical substances. In addition, the RnD center includes a check-in service and a transfer coordination center. The RnD center is equipped with modern European-class equipment that allows the development of generics and original drugs, the latter now account for about 30% of the products being developed. The center's production and laboratory capabilities make it possible to quickly scale processes, which significantly accelerates technology transfer to production and ensures increased efficiency at the stages of debugging and technical launch of new medicines. Another opportunity and task of the center is the production of micro–series of medicines for preclinical research, which avoids additional costs if necessary to change the formulations.

The development and market launch of new medicines in various nosologies is one of the key areas of research and technological development of the Promomed Group of Companies. In recent years, a special focus has been on the development of drugs for the treatment of cancer, hepatitis, HIV, gastroenterological diseases and conditions, and immune response modulators. Biotechnological products have become a separate area of work. In total, more than 100 new drugs are currently at various stages of development and registration.

During the visit, Dmitry Krutoy was shown the technological chain of production of active pharmaceutical substances for antibiotics. The company's specialists have developed a new technology for the production of glycopeptide antibiotics. In March 2023, the next step towards Russia's drug independence was taken, when, with the participation of the President of the Russian Federation, the plant launched the production of active pharmaceutical substances with a capacity of up to 340 tons.

The meeting participants discussed opportunities for developing the export potential of finished products, substances and technologies to the Republic of Belarus. Dmitry Krutoy highly appreciated the Promomed Group's capabilities to ensure Russia's drug sovereignty and expressed hope for further cooperation with Belarusian manufacturers and customers.
