The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation approved Areplivir for the treatment of coronavirus infection

Promomed has received a registration certificate for the release of Areplivir, an antiviral drug developed by the company's specialists and effective in the treatment of Covid–19 patients, at its own production site, Biochemik JSC.

This event will make it possible to change the course of the epidemic and create reliable protection against the threat of the predicted "second wave" of the coronavirus pandemic.

Biochemist is fully prepared for the large–scale production of Areplivir - the company is capable of producing up to one million packages per month, which will cover all the needs of Russian medical institutions in this drug.

At the moment, Areplivir is at the stage of completing clinical trials, in which 210 patients with confirmed coronavirus infection who are undergoing treatment in medical institutions in Saransk, Moscow, and St. Petersburg voluntarily participate.

The results of the third phase of clinical trials of the drug "Areplivir" demonstrated its effectiveness in excess of 90%. It was confirmed that the duration of the disease with the use of the drug "Areplivir" is reduced from nine to four days compared with the control group of patients. In the biological samples of 70 percent of patients taking Areplivir, the absence of the virus was detected on the fourth day.

Specialists who treat the drug also emphasize that Areplivir demonstrates high effectiveness even outside of complex therapy – without the participation of anti-inflammatory drugs, as well as antibiotics. Doctors recommend prescribing Areplivir to patients with moderate to mild forms of the disease in the first 48 hours of treatment.

Another important result of clinical trials is the absence of previously unreported side effects from Areplivir.

All these indicators allow us to call Areplivir a "drug of hope and salvation."

The development of Areplivir has become part of a large-scale antiviral program carried out by specialists from PROMOMED Group of Companies and the Biochemist JSC production site, which is part of them.
