The Russian government has signed an order to include new drugs based on favipiravir in the list of essential essential medicines (VED). This was announced by Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko on Wednesday during an online meeting of the Duma Committee on Health Protection.
"I want to say that a government decree has been signed to expand the list of VED. It includes drugs related to the treatment of the new coronavirus infection," the minister said. At the same time, Mikhail Murashko stressed that, first of all, we are talking about favipiravir, the marginal price of which will be registered after approval with the Federal Antimonopoly Service.
PROMOMED Group welcomes the long-awaited Government decree on the inclusion of COVID-19 drugs in the list of VED. "This important and timely decision will ensure the availability of our drug Areplivir to all patients in need of treatment for coronavirus infection, as well as optimize budget costs," said Andrey Mladentsev, Executive Director of PROMOMED Group. "Given the increasingly complex situation with the spread of the pandemic, providing necessary and affordable treatment is a priority and strategic task for everyone."
