The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan has issued a registration certificate for the drug Tirzetta® (INN tirzepatide) to PROMOMED. Deliveries to the republic will begin in the near future.[1]
Eduard Kasyan, Executive Director of PROMOMED: "According to WHO data for 2024, overweight was detected in 56% of adults in the country, the global average is about 45%. The demand for obesity and diabetes therapy in the republic has already been formed, and we are ready to provide supplies in the required volumes."
Tirzepatide is used for type 2 diabetes and obesity. It acts on two receptors at once — GLP-1 and GIP: it reduces appetite and keeps blood glucose levels in the target range.
PROMOMED produces the drug in a full cycle. Tirzetta® is available in disposable auto-injectors. The production technology made it possible to eliminate preservatives in the composition, including phenol and benzyl alcohol, which are often used in reusable syringe pens. With prolonged treatment, preservatives accumulate in the body and can cause undesirable effects.
"Kazakhstan is one of the priority markets of our international strategy. We work with leading distribution and pharmacy chains to ensure stable supplies, scientific and expert support for doctors' prescriptions from the first day of sales."
