The opening of a new high-tech tablet shop with a production capacity of one billion tablets per year took place on December 17 at the Biochemik Saransk plant, part of the Promomed Group of Companies.  More than 1.8 billion rubles of investments have been invested in the project, which is important not only for the region, but also for the country as a whole. Strategically important medicines will be produced here, which are important for the technological sovereignty of the country and reducing dependence on foreign supplies of pharmaceutical products.

Deputy Minister of Health of Russia Sergey Glagolev, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Viktor Bondarev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Health Fedot Tumusov, Head of Mordovia Artyom Zdunov and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed Group Peter Bely pressed the symbolic button to start the workshop.

The inspection of the company's production facilities began with an interactive presentation. Pyotr Bely spoke about the development of the industrial giant as a whole and the specifics of the new production. Production buildings, workshops and facilities for the fermentation of synthetically active pharmaceutical substances, injection production, a full production cycle of low-molecular-weight heparin substances are located on 28 hectares, and production sites for the manufacture of chemical and oncological substances are being equipped. The construction of the largest and most environmentally friendly sewage treatment plant complex in the country is coming to an end.

"From the point of view of engineering, this is a masterpiece. There has never been such an approach to such a scale in the country. Biochemist is one of the five largest pharmaceutical companies in Russia, ready to cope with any task in healthcare. This year alone, more than 10 billion rubles have been invested in engineering complexes and research," Petr Bely emphasized.

Promomed Group's new production facility is one of the most modern in Europe. Vacuum transfer technologies are used here instead of human labor. It is equipped with the most modern technologies, including for the manufacture of multilayer and composite tablets produced in conditions of photosensitivity and zero humidity.

Antiviral, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, and hepatoprotective drugs will be released from the workshop lines. In the near future, the production of drugs in the form of sachets will be launched. The conditions and technological parameters of the release are controlled by means of monitoring, data collection, dispatching and timely management. This will allow us to produce the highest quality products on all lines.

The guests visited the facilities for the production of core tablets, film coating, sachet production and packaging workshop.

During the ceremony, Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech: "The pharmaceutical industry responded promptly to the challenges of COVDI-19 and as soon as possible launched the production of drugs that saved thousands of lives of our citizens. I would like to express my confidence that the inclusion of a new production site among Russian pharmaceutical manufacturers will allow us to become more confident, and this will be the key to the development of healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry in Russia as a whole."

"I am at an event that has revolutionized medicine. New workshops provide employment for people and decent salaries. You are making a huge contribution to the medicinal independence of our state. Thank you, you are fighting an invisible enemy!" said Viktor Bondarev, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security.

Fedot Tumusov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma's Health Committee, stressed the importance of today's event for the whole country, and possibly for the whole world.: "The company is at the forefront of science – 190 drugs are at various stages of registration, clinical trials and release. The workshop that we have opened ensures not only the technological superiority of the company over others, but also our country's superiority over other pharmaceutical manufacturing countries."

"By opening such production facilities, we are proving to the whole world that Russia is capable of being completely technologically independent. We can produce the necessary equipment, train people, and go all the way to protect intellectual property. We are dealing with the safety and lives of people, and we act as a single team. We are already thinking about the next stage of production, new investments and markets," said Artem Zdunov. He also thanked the guests for the support of Mordovia, and the Promomed Group of companies for fruitful cooperation.

"We have seen the opening of a workshop that actually digitizes the production of medicines, takes them to a fundamentally new level, makes the mechanism for creating solid dosage forms controllable, scalable and allows you to adapt to changing market conditions and healthcare needs in a short time. This is not only a victory, but also a tremendous proof of our strength in response to external challenges," concluded Sergey Glagolev, Deputy Minister of Health of Russia.

At the end of the ceremony, the best employees of the enterprise were awarded honorary diplomas of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, commendations from the Head of the Republic of Mordovia, as well as honorary diplomas from the State Duma Committee on Health Protection.
